But what is exactly this so-called “morbid obesity.” According to the BMI chart from the National Institutes of Health – if you tip the scales at a BMI of 30 or above, then congratulations to you. Now you are officially considered as a part of the “morbidly obese” club! But wait, what does that even mean? Are we supposed to start planning our funerals or booking personal gym trainers?

Now, here’s what I think about BMI. Screw the BMI chart and its ridiculous standards! Whether you’re a size zero or a size “oh my god, I can’t find my toes,” your worth isn’t determined by a number on a scale.

Embrace your curves, your rolls, and everything in between because life’s too short to worry about fitting into society’s narrow definition of beauty.

However, at the same time, BMI can give you an idea about health conditions. What we often forget is that, obesity can be a serious cause behind getting affected with severe health issues, for example – high cholesterol levels and further leading it into heart related complications.
